    The Make it Happen Fund, a community-led initiative to bring positive change to communities in Dundee has launched today (6th January). The fund is run by local communities for local people and will enable families and community groups to set the fund’s priorities and design the funding proposal process for their area.     Since WM2U started working in Kirkton with families in 2023 we have witnessed at first hand the capacity and the capability of local families to share experiences and together explore solutions to things that matter most to them in their community.

    Working alongside the Dundee City Council Community Empowerment Team and the newly formed Kirkton Community Centre SCIO, WM2U has been priveledged to support Kirkton parents to develop additional activities for their community including an additional community cafe.

    To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow and no truer than the refugee families who have found a second home at the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry.

    In three short months, the parents have refurbished a poly tunnel and growing space that is already not just producing fresh produce but helping to build new relationships and mutual support structures for the families.
