To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow and no truer than the refugee families who have found a second home at the Ben Cleuch Centre in Tillicoultry.

In three short months, the parents have refurbished a poly tunnel and growing space that is already not just producing fresh produce but helping to build new relationships and mutual support structures for the families.

Ben Cleuch Families

Three months on from the support from Clackmannanshire Council Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP and WM2U Make It Happen Fund (MIHF) the parents have had their first harvest and looking at ways to develop their local community connections with attendance at a 'Food & Produce Display' event at Hawkhill Community Centre in Alloa in October. Plans are in hand for the development of possible revenue streams from the produce to help the future sustainabilty and ability to support more families.

The impact on the familes has been significant thanks to the support of the local support staff.

Our children are like looking in a mirror - when we feel good they feel good.

I have no garden in my house - this is mentally and emotionally beneficial.
