"Kirkton is a proper community"
Since WM2U started working in Kirkton with families in 2023 we have witnessed at first hand the capacity and the capability of local families to share experiences and together explore solutions to things that matter most to them in their community.
Working alongside the Dundee City Council Community Empowerment Team and the newly formed Kirkton Community Centre SCIO, WM2U has been priveledged to support Kirkton parents to develop additional activities for their community including an additional community cafe.
We are now delighted to be supporting this wonderful group of parents to develop their capacity to do even more in and for the community through a Columba 1400 Values Based Leadership Experience (VBLE).
Their focus in the weeks ahead is starting to take shape as they seek ways of:
- Fundraising for their new Community Centre.
- Helping to keep families and groups coming together.
- Ensuring their is strong communication across the community.
- Enabling an inclusive approach to ensure broad community engagement.
- Making people feel welcome.
