East Ayrshire
What Matters to You (WM2U) today announces that, after five years of delivering incredible work alongside many wonderful community members, our partnership with East Ayrshire will come to an end.
Our relationship with East Ayrshire Council remains strong and, after thorough discussions with the Chief Executive, we agree that this decision aligns with significant strategic developments underway at the Council, particularly the Children’s Services strategic review and the review of Leisure and Culture.
WM2U’s efforts in East Ayrshire have resulted in many lasting impacts, especially in Cumnock and Shortlees. Our collective achievements include working with local residents to establish their own charity, the Nest Wellbeing Group, which has utilised a community living space to improve the lives of people in Cumnock.
WM2U has built long-lasting relationships, spotlighting voices from local families and supporting community developments within the area. Along with The Hunter Foundation and BBC Children in Need, we are committed to ensuring that there are no unmet commitments as our work draws to a close. We remain dedicated to maintaining a positive impact and will support the people we’ve worked alongside in continuing the great work they are doing within the community.
The partnership will conclude in October 2024, following a period of legacy planning that will allow the team to establish structures to meet the ongoing needs of local partners and community members.
WM2U wants to take this opportunity to thank the people of East Ayrshire, and we look forward to celebrating what we have achieved together in the coming months.
